(Orange County release, 9/12/19) Orange County, the State of North Carolina and the City of Mebane announced Thursday, Sept. 12, the successful recruitment of Medline. The Board officially approved Orange County’s local performance-based incentive offer to Medline in a special Public Hearing on Sept. 10…Over the next five years, the company will invest an estimated $65.3 million to build a state-of-the-art 1.2 million square foot distribution center that will be automated with an intelligent robotic inventory control system and have an extensive array of solar panels installed on the roof. The building will be built to energy efficient LEED standards that meet the guidance of the U.S. Green Building Council. The facility will initially create 250 new full-time jobs that will provide health, educational and retirement benefits. At full capacity by year 10 and thereafter, Medline anticipates the new Orange County operation will boast as many as 600 jobs.
